Biography of Prophet Mohammed (SWS)

They made idols and worshiped them. They also loved trees, the sea, the sun, the moon etc. They used alcoholic beverages and gambling. They buried their living daughters and burned the widows widely. In short, the world was in the greatest error and in the greatest perdition.
They had ceased worshiping the One God. It was then necessary for a Messenger to come from Allah to guide mankind once again towards the path of Truth.
The birth of Prophet Muhammad
It is then at Mecca that the Prophet (may God grant him His Grace and Peace), most probably on the 12th of the month of Rabi’ul Awwal of the year of the elephant.
At the birth of the prophet Mohammad, several events took place throughout the world; Thus the palace of the Persian emperor trembled, and a fire which had been lit for centuries in one of their temples was extinguished.
Childhood
His father Abdullah died two months before the birth of the prophet Mohammad. At the age of 6, after the death of his mother Amina, he was taken in charge by his grandfather Abdoul Mouttalib. But two years, two months and ten days after his mother’s death, Abdul Muttalib fell seriously ill. He then called all his sons to his bedside and decided that after his death, Mohammad would be entrusted to one of them: Abu Talib.
Abdoul Mouttalib died some time later when the Prophet Mohammad was only 8 years old. Abu Talib was the uncle of Muhammad. He had a large family but despite this he did not hesitate to collect Mohammad.
In order to raise his family, he went as far as Syria (the Sham) to trade.
A sign
It was during this journey that he met a monk named “Bahira” who recognized in him the distinctive signs of the Prophet who had been predicted in the gospel and who was expected. He advised Abu Talib to bring back the Prophet Muhammad (God grant him His Grace and Peace) Quickly to Makkah and take good care of him.
The Prophet Mohammed (God grant him His Grace and Peace) Had cultivated during his childhood and youth a certain character and moral strength quite different from the others. He had good manners. He was honest and loyal. Also, the people of Makkah called him “Al-Amine” (the trustworthy).
His wife Khadija
There was a very rich widowed woman in Mecca called Khadija (may Allah be pleased with her). She traded in Makkah but also outside of Arabia, through other people. When she learned that Mohammad (God grant him His Grace and Peace) Was the most honest man in Mecca, she proposed to him to drive one of his commercial caravans to Syria in exchange for a salary.
Mohammad accepted his proposal and thus accomplished his second journey to that country. Maysara (a maid of Khadija, who accompanied them) also found on this trip other strange signs concerning Mohammad. She then told Khadija (may Allah be pleased with her) on her return.
Khadija (may God be pleased with her) was a rich and educated woman. She then sent a messenger named Nafiça to Muhammad’s uncle to tell him of his desire to marry Muhammad. The request having been accepted, Mohammad (God grant him His Grace and Peace), Was then 25 years old when he married Khadija, who for his part was 40 years old.
She lived more than a quarter of a century (over 25 years) with her husband. Mohammad (God grant him His Grace and Peace) Did not marry other women as long as Khadija was still alive. She was his best wife and companion. From this union four daughters and two sons were born. The two sons were called Quassim and Tahir. Both died at an early age. The girls were called Zeinab, Umm Kulukum, Roquayya and Fatima.
The Message of the Prophet Mohammed
The beloved of Allah, as he was nicknamed, reproached the Meccans for their idols (statues they took for God), called them to worship the One Creator and recited to them the verses of the Qur’an to guide them in the right way.
As a response he faced torture and oppression. When the Meccans became aware of their inability to face him, they offered him royalty, money and power but Mohammad (peace and blessings) refused and said :
Even if you put the Sun on my right hand and the Moon on my left hand, I would not give up my Message
This message of a few words but weighing heavier than the heavens and the earth was :
O you people! Say there is no divinity worthy of worship except Allah and you will succeed !
The persecutions
Slowly, one by one, the number of Muslims increased, guided by the beloved prophet. But Muslims were the object of persecution from the earliest days of Islam. They laughed and laughed at them, and as if that were not enough, the non-believers even had recourse to physical attacks and tortures.
A few hundred Muslims succeeded in leaving Mecca, abandoning their homes, seeking refuge in neighboring Abyssinia, a Christian land, and those who remained suffered increasingly violent persecution. A new tactic was put in place by the leaders of Mecca. They compelled the prophet and his companions to live in a remote part of the city, and no provision came to them.
The Beloved of Allah
Thanks to God, the persecutors ceased this inhuman practice. The blockade was finally lifted and the situation changed somewhat. People could again observe and listen to the prophet.
He was a handsome man, of medium height, with black hair and beard, and his words were always full of wisdom and advice. Muhammad’s kindness and mercy were unrivaled. He gave a place of honor to the woman, a place in society that was unimaginable, an honor in Islam, which was not found anywhere else.
His Hour
God the Most High, recalled his prophet at the age of 63, he died in his house in Medina, leaving behind only a few goods, the world at his feet but without a dinar in his name. While no one would believe it, Abu Bakr, the truthful says this :
To anyone who loved Mohamed, I announce the death of Mohamed. But to Him who worships Allah, the Lord is alive and never dies
The spirit of his message remains as clear and living as when it was revealed :
La ilaha illa Allah
There is no divinity apart from Allah
“O Lord, pray to Muhammad and to the family of Mohammed as You have prayed on Ibrahim (Abraham) and on the family of Ibrahim, You are indeed worthy of praise and glorification. Thou hast blessed Ibrâhîm and the family of Ibrâhîm, Thou art certainly worthy of praise and glorification. “
